Top 10 Greatest Moments of EVO 2015 You Don’t Want to Miss

This last week EVO ran its 14th professional fighting game tournament, EVO 2015. It was the most successful event in its history, turning out huge crowds, profound matches, and outstanding production values.

Now that the event has come to a close, we can look back at its greatest moments. Below you will find 10 of them with videos to show you what went down and how the crowd reacted.

10. Daigo Wrecks Opponents Before EVO

Many regard Daigo as one of the best fighting game players in history, holding a Guinness World Record for Street Fighter tournament wins. He showed why he's nobody to mess with when he obliterated several opponents in Street Fighter IV before the show. It set the tone for the weekend to come.

9. John Numbers Playing Wii Fit Trainer Upsets Nakat

Nakat's Fox is regarded as ferocious. However, he was bested by John Number playing as Wii Fit Trainer during one of the most memorable Super Smash Bros. moments at the show. You can see the disappointment in Nakat's face after the match concludes.

8. Leffen vs DruggedFox Features Remarkable Execution

One of the best Super Smash Bros. matches featured Leffen vs DruggedFox. It was a match rich with nearly perfect dodges and attack timing by both players, but only one could walk away victorious.

7. Chudat Makes Remarkable Comeback Against HugS

With his back against the wall, Chudat would dodge HugS' potentially game-winning attack while at over 125% and follow it up with retaliating blows. The crowd would erupt in applause.

6. 801Strider Achieves 3 Perfects in a Row

Rarely do you get to see a professional match commanded so much by a single player. Skullzer was completely outclassed and it showed on the big stage as 801Strider won four rounds in a row, three of which were Perfect.

5. Onisan Takes Off His Shirt and Disrespects Poongko

Onisan's strategy for this EVO was to intimidate his opponents with pre-game gestures. He showed no mercy for Poongko. Unfortunate to him, Poongko knew precisely how to handle such an awkward situation.

4. Sleep NS Makes a Legendary Comeback Using Kan-Ra

Kan-Ra is known for his punishing skills at zoning, and he fully employed them when controlled by Sleep NS in the best comeback at EVO 2015. With a sliver of health, he would maul Sabrewulf from full health to 0% like it was just another day in Killer Instinct.

3. Kane BlueRiver Becomes First Non-American to Win MVC3

There's not much you can do when someone is on their game, and Kane BlueRiver was on fire this weekend. He would absolutely devastate RayRay capturing a major in the process. Made better, he used Hulk for the victory. This made him the first non-American to win a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament at EVO.

2. Woshige Celebrates Win Too Early

Woshige achieved a great victory during his match against Ogawazato, but it was for a round, not the match. Ogawazato would punish him for standing up and celebrating early, resulting in Woshige drowning in his own embarrassment. At least he was a great sport about it afterward.

1. Momochi's Stick Breaks During Grand Final, Wins Anyway

During the Street Fighter IV Grand Final Momochi's stick broke. This caused a delay in the match that opponent Gamerbee was very patient about. Despite being a good sport, Momochi would win the gold trophy with a replacement stick. You can see the moment at 1:45 onward in the video below.
