I don't really get to play a lot of games while they're the big thing. If there's an assignment for a review of some sort, I get to, but in most of those cases, it's a Japanese game that no one else is playing yet. Otherwise, it's just too expensive to keep shelling out for new games and new-game prices.
This in mind, I'm just now getting to Tomb Raider Trilogy, the PS3 remasters of some PS2 Tomb Raider games. I'm playing Anniversary and I find it lovely. Did these sell poorly? What was the need for reboot? I might have just answered my own question as I realize that I didn't play any of these while they were new. Welp.
It's strange for me to be so late to this party, because the Tomb Raider PSOne games (also on PC, yes, I know) were some of my favorites of that generation.
So did the reboot a couple of years ago make big changes to the formula or something? I love these. Are the new ones more of this kind of stuff?
