Hideo Kojima Partners With Sony To Bring New Console Exclusive To PS4, Maybe PC [UPDATE]

Update: A PC version has been confirmed, although it will come after the PS4 version due to timed exclusivity. In addition, it has been declared that the title won't be Silent Hills.

Original Story: Just a day ago Hideo Kojima ended his long relationship with Konami. No longer bound by its rules, he quickly sought refuge at the place he loves most.

Sony has announced that it has partnered with Kojima to create a console exclusive title for the PS4. As a part of the deal Kojima Productions will continue operations, and even has a new logo (seen above). Kojima had the following to say following the announcement:

I will be taking on a new challenge by establishing my own independent studio, and I am thrilled to be able to embark on this journey with PlayStation, who I have continued to work with all these past years. I cannot wait to deliver, with PlayStation, a game that will become a compelling franchise.

Meanwhile, Sony president and global CEO Andrew House shared the following video:

Kojima is one of the most revered game creators in history, responsible for creating the Metal Gear franchise. Although it will be a while before we hear about what Kojima Productions has in-store, it goes without saying that this is a significant turn of events. It is worth noting that the term "console exclusive" was used, so a PC version of the game appears likely.

An official website for post-Konami Kojima Productions is available here.
