Although we already knew the right circle pad attachment for the 3DS was coming, we didn't know much else. Nintendo held their pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference last night and spilled the beans on the new attachment.
The "3DS Kakuchou Slide Pad" or "3DS Expansion Slide Pad" will cost ¥1,500, which is roughly $20. It will release on December 10th in Japan, but unsurprisingly, there is no word on other regions at the moment.
Along with adding an extra circle or "slide" pad to the 3DS, it is said to also feature additional trigger buttons. It is powered by one AA battery.
In what be the biggest news of all, the new 3DS Expansion Slide Pad will support a number of upcoming 3DS titles including:
- Monster Hunter 3 G
- Resident Evil: Revelations
- Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D
- Ace Combat 3D Cross Rumble
- Dynasty Warriors VS
- Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance
If these games are already planning support, you can expect to see the majority of future titles utilizing the add-on. Also, this pretty much guarantees the fact that there will be a 3DS redesign in the near future that includes the extra circle pad and additional buttons.
Really sucks to be a early 3DS adopter now.
