Microsoft May Be Upgrading the Xbox One

Along with reports of the PS4.5, codenamed "Neo," which is rumored to have significantly improved hardware, the Xbox One may also be in line for upgrade too, according to The Verge.

While Phil Spencer mentioned in a roundtable interview with GameInformer that he's not "a big fan of Xbox One and a half," preferring "a really substantial change for people" before coming out with a new model, there are rumblings that the Xbox One could be getting an upgrade.

A filing with the Federal Communications Commission, as discovered by NeoGAF member ekim, shows that Microsoft is submitting "a new Xbox One wireless chip with a new model number" and that photos as well as key details are still under an NDA between Microsoft and the FCC. This information is scheduled to release on June 25 almost two weeks after Xbox's schedule E3 2016 press conference.

The Xbox console isn't new to redesigns either, with the Xbox 360 having an Xbox 360 S and an Xbox 360 E (in addition to different hardware variations of those two models as well). Seeing something similar with the Xbox One wouldn't be out of the ballpark, especially if the Xbox One wishes to support the Microsoft HoloLens headset and to keep pace with PlayStation 4.5. And hey, Phil Spencer did also state that the console would "come out with new hardware capability during a generation."

Is this the right time for an upgrade of the Xbox One? In addition to graphics, what else do you think the console needs?
