The 5 Best Games To Get With Your New PSVR
Batman: Arkham VR
Batman: Arkham VR is the premier, VR exclusive, AAA experience for the PSVR's launch. If you've ever wanted to go to Gotham City, this is your ticket. The world of Batman comes to life with PSVR, and it's truly a sight to behold. rn rnThe game plays similar to other games in the Batman universe, only you play from a first-person perspective. Where this truly shines is in detective situations where you can walk around analyzing your surroundings while looking for clues. In this sense, you get to experience what it's like to not only be Batman, but a detective at a crime scene. rn rnThe only real thing it can be knocked for is that it's too short. It doesn't last long and is far from being a full Batman experience. That said, it's concise and convincing.
Battlezone
Multiplayer experiences are hard to come by in VR, especially good ones. Battlezone breaks the mold by offering a co-operative multiplayer experience that is incredibly fun to play as well as offering insight into what it's like to see other real players in VR. rn rnThe game is a rebirth of the Battlezone Atari game that released in 1980. Hailed as one of the greats of its era, it's a simple game where you pilot a tank around while firing at opponents. Aiming requires precision considering the travel time of tank shells and the constant movement of your opponents. But when you land a solid hit it's great to see the explosions that ensue. rn rnAlthough this title is commonly labeled as overpriced due to its low variety of content and mild repetitiveness, it is a highly polished experience that will help diversify your library.
Driveclub VR
VR does wonders for racing games. Being able to quickly and precisely peer through your side windows and mirrors for visibility is a huge benefit that non-VR experiences simply can't equal. You also get a much better sense of scale, which helps with brake timing and cornering. rn rnDriveclub VR uses these perks in terrific fashion. It's a beautiful game that makes cars come to life. You will actually feel like you're in a supercar cruising down the highway at breakneck speeds, only you won't have to suffer the consequences of an invevitably deadly crash. rn rnThis is also a content rich game that has been ported over from a non-VR experience. Due to this, it could become the most highly played game in your library.
Thumper
Thumper is a great example of how games are so much more interesting in VR than what you see in screenshots. It has beautiful colors and lines that immerse you in its world as you listen to its beat-heavy music. It's like being absorbed into a musical experience, where you're a part of the symphony. rn rnThis is a smaller, more reasonably priced title that is a strong advocate for how rhythm games can be extremely successful in VR. If you want something faster paced that blows your mind, this is the title to get.
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
VR makes horror games infinitely more terrifying. Such is the case in Until Dawn: Rush of Blood , a game that will test your resilience. There's something unsettling about seeing the horrifying sights of a world like Until Dawn right before your eyes. Your mind is convinced that you're really there, and will wish that it was somewhere else. rn rnFor many people the sheer terror is disqualifying. However, it can't be said enough how much better horror experiences are in VR. If you happen to be a fan of the genre, or just want to brave the challenge, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is without a doubt the best horror game available to-date.
