Valve Misses Response Deadline for Washington State Gambling Commission, Will Respond Today

In another misstep by Valve, the Washington State Gambling Commission announced today that the gaming corporation missed the deadline to respond to this month's cease and desist order.

Two weeks ago, the commission sent a letter to Valve Corporation saying they need to stop facilitating online gambling through their Steam Platform, as it relates to weapon skins in Counter-Strke: Global Offensive. Valve's deadline to respond was Friday, Oct. 14th, but that deadline came and went.

Per a press release by the WSGC, Commission Director David Trujillo said "I am disappointed that Valve Corporation missed Friday’s deadline, but encouraged that they have committed to responding today. I look forward to reviewing their response in detail."

Chris Stearns, whom GameRevolution exclusively interviewed, also went on record in the press release, stating "The type of approach Valve decides to take will be very important."

This announcement underscores what can only be described as a lack of cooperation by Valve during this investigation, as GameRevolution earlier reported that Valve straight up ignored inquiries by the commission for the better part of eight months.

We will have more on this as the story develops.
