It's been less than two weeks since the release of Sid Meier's Civilization VI, but it's already crossed a major sales milestone.
According to Steam Spy, Civilization VI celebrated Halloween by crossing the coveted mark of 1 million copies sold.
On paper, this is merely rivaling sales of AAA titles such as Battlefield 1, which also reportedly crossed the 1 million copy mark. An obvious, but important difference is that Battlefield 1 is a multi-platform game, allowing it to inherently reach a larger audience.
It is important to note, though, that this doesn't necessarily mean sales. Of the people who reviewed the game on Steam, around 1,600 of them were key activations, so an even larger portion might not have paid money for the game.
It ends up being a distinction without a difference, though, as this is still really impressive.
