It's true that the latest monster-online-multiplayer-hit, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launched yesterday. It's also probably true that it's sitting atop the Xbox Live Activity chart as I write this. Still, for one week, EA and DICE managed to squeeze out a win with their modern warfare shooter.
As detailed on Major Nelson's blog, the Xbox Live Activity Charts for the week of October 31st list Call of Duty: Black Ops in first place, with Battlefield 3 trailing closely behind in second. Modern Warfare 2, Gears of War 3, FIFA 12 round out the top 5. While it's promising that there are enough unique users playing Battlefield 3 online for a second place finish, it certainly won't last.
Expect to see Battlefield 3 back in third place with two Call of Duty titles leading the pack once this week's activity charts go live.
