Microsoft Patents Controller With Pressure-Sensitive Tech

The creative minds at Microsoft are at it again, this time bearing a patent for a pressure-sensitive controller. Sound weird to you? Good. I'm glad I'm not the only one who is a bit befuddled by the news.

The patent, which was first spotted by Engadget claims to add "personalization" to the controller by "using a hand-pressure signature." The patent goes on to explain the practicality of this technology, pointing out that once the controller recognizes the player, the console will then be able to automatically sign the player into their Xbox account.

Wait, that actually sounds pretty cool!

The patent was filed back in 2009, but only just recently has been approved. Could Microsoft be planning to sneak in a nice little reveal at this year's E3? It sure is possible.
