I pretty much only venture into GameStop if I need XBLA or PSN cards, as I don't have either tied to a credit card number anymore (thanks, Sony!). Now I suppose I have another reason to wander in there: Steam Wallet codes.
"GameStop is the most recognized game retailer in the world and a leader in providing a state-of-the-art shopping experience for its customers, " said Jason Holtman, the Director of Business Development for Valve.
GameStop may not sell PC games anymore, but they'll still help you buy games for your PC! Personally, I'm a little happy about this for two reasons:
- Buying Wallet codes will help me rein in my spending whenever they have evil, evil Steam sales; and
- Now I can buy my PC gaming friends gift cards they will be happy about!
As of now, GameStop is the only retailer where you can buy Steam Wallet codes in the US. Cards sell in packs of $20 or $50.
