According to Eurogamer, one of Sony's major foci for this year's E3 is a revamp of their PlayStation Plus program. The revamp will include giving members top-tier games for free and better integrating the service with the Vita. PS+ on the Vita will offer Vita-exclusives and a separate cloud-saving service just for the Vita. This way, players won't have to connect the Vita to another device to back up their data.
There is also a rumor, based off of a user survey, that Sony will offer a tiered-program for the PlayStation Plus. Each tier would cost a different additional amount on top of the $50/year fee. For example, one tier would offer 61 new top-quality games a year for $5.00 more a month. Another tier would offer 80 average and above-average games for an extra $10.00 a month. All of these games would be at least a year old, and 10 full PS3 titles would be offered each week.
I really hope Sony does not go the tiered route, as it's because of crap like that that I'm constantly looking for ways to quit my cable service. It's possible that instead of creating a tiered structure, Sony is looking for the most economic way to raise the price of the service, which is just as not cool.
