After reporting its first ever annual loss earlier this year, Nintendo has opted to cut summer bonuses instead of cutting jobs. What a revolutionary concept.
Employees will still receive bonuses, but they will be significantly less than they have been in years past. In fact, they will be about 20 percent lower than they have previously been. This follows up president Satoru Iwata taking a 50 percent paycut and the company's board of directors taking 20-30% paycuts.
This is how it should it be done, business people of the world. Cut your bonuses before you cut jobs. I cannot applaud Nintendo enough for continuing this business practice.
