Friday the 13th: The Game Becomes Most Viewed on Twitch, as Streaming Embargo Lifts

Friday the 13th: The Game won't be out until Friday, but you can already get a taste of what's in store by watching streams on Twitch and YouTube. Streamers were given codes today, as developer Gun Media lifted the streaming embargo.

More than just that, the asymmetrical multiplayer horror game managed to climb all the way to the top of Twitch.tv's most concurrent viewers, passing streaming giants such as Dota 2, Hearthstone and even League of Legends, and it did so after only a couple hours.

Gun media certainly took notice of this milestone, Tweeting out "WE ARE THE #1 GAME ON TWITCH! Thank you so much, everyone for your support. Friday can't come soon enough."

This shouldn't be surprising for anyone who has followed the game throughout the early stages of its development. During the Beta, it was also the most-viewed game. As for review copies, those are making the rounds soon, but probably a lot closer to the actual release date.

Friday the 13th: The Game is available for pre-order on Steam, but not on console, as working out those details with PlayStation and Xbox would have required another month delay for the game. As a compensation, those who pre-ordered the game physically via kickstarter or the backerkit were offered a digital code instead.

Pre-load for PC players on Steam did start yesterday, and the game is only 3.5 gbs, so it should install relatively quickly compared to many other games on the market.
