When Jason West and Vince Zampella were ejected from the studio they founded, Infinity Ward, it set off a huge legal battle. There was finger-pointing, and name-calling, and wedgies. When the two finally got sent to the principals office, they agreed to kiss and make up behind closed doors.
I'm saying that the legal settlement between the two parties was undisclosed, but I let the metaphor get away from me.
Speaking with an analyst, Gamespot has learned that the duo were most likely paid in the "tens of millions" of dollars. Activision previously paid the Infinity Ward Employee Group $42 million.
Following their departure from Electronic Arts where they developed the Medal of Honor series, Zampella and West created the wildly popular Call of Duty series. The lawsuit they brought against former employer Activision for wrongful termination was seeking $1 billion.
We'll find out for sure on August 2nd when Activision's earnings report reveals the actual amount the company paid in settling with West and Zampella.
