What Are You Playing? October 25th, 2017

We’re slap-bang in the middle of a huge week for the gaming industry, with three of the most highly-anticipated games of the entire year set to release this Friday. As a result, tomorrow you’ll get to see Michael Leri’s review of Assassin’s Creed Origins, along with Jason Faulker’s review of Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, while I’m working on both our Super Mario Odyssey review and our impressions of Destiny 2‘s PC release. Suffice to say, it’s a busy week.

Outside of the above games, I’ve mostly been playing WWE 2K18. As a big wrestling fan but a routinely underwhelmed player of the WWE 2K games, I still spend a lot of time with each new entry in the series, but I always wish more time would be spent on ironing out the persistent bugs, glitches and altogether janky gameplay that it’s become known for. Unfortunately, this year it feels like the number of issues has increased, with weird bugs appearing in just about every facet of the game. It’s still fun to play if you’re a WWE fan, and it certainly looks better than previous instalments, but with few changes to its gameplay and a slew of problems across the board it’s difficult to call WWE 2K18 a particularly good game.

But that’s enough about us; what are you playing? Are you holding out for this week’s big releases? Are you working your way into your backlog? Or are you BigTruckSeries, in which case you’re probably playing Mortal Kombat X again? Let us know in the comments section below.
