Sims 4 Cats & Dogs lets you experience the life of your pet from a kitten or puppy to a full-grown adult animal. Like human Sims, animals don’t have a ton of interactions available until they reach adulthood. In time-honored The Sims 4 tradition, you’ll probably want to age up past the sometimes dull stages of your pet’s life so you can get right to the fun stuff. Below you’ll find the steps to age up your pet in The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs.
How to Age Up Pets in Sims 4 Cats & Dogs
The process to age up your animals is a bit different than it is for human Sims. You’ll have to get ahold of a new item introduced in this expansion: Dr. Magi-Heal’s Medicine Craft-o-Matic. There are several places you can find the Craft-o-Matic. You can, of course, buy one for your house, but if you don’t want to spend the Simoleans, you can always visit a vet clinic and use the one there.
To use the Dr. Magi-Heal’s Medcine Craft-o-Matic to age up your pets in The Sims 4, you’ll need to practice your Vet skill for a while. The Craft-o-Matic can produce items that you can use with your pets until you level up your skills you won’t be able to make the thing you need to make your pet older.

Once you’ve practiced your Vet skill to a high enough level, you can head over to the Craft-o-Matic to start aging up your pet. You’ll need to go to the “Craft” menu, then select “Treats,” and then you’ll see Age-Up Treat as a craftable item. Feed this to your pet, and they’ll grow older by one level. So kittens will grow into adults, and adults will turn into to elders.
How to Age Down Pets in Sims 4 Cats & Dogs
You’ll likely fall in love with your Sim animal, and want to keep them around a lot longer than their natural lifespan allows. Luckily, there’s a way to make your pets younger so they can be your pals while your Sim human still ages normally.
To age down a pet in The Sims 4, you just have to go to the Craft-o-Matic with a high enough Vet skill and craft the Age-Down Treat from the same menu you can use to create the Age-Up Treat. Feed it to your animal, and they’ll reduce in age by one level.
If you want to stop aging entirely, you’ll need to use The Sims 4 cheat codes.
