Hitman: Absolution Contracts Turns Everyone Into A Target

Revealed at Gamescom and explained in more detail at a pre-PAX event, the new Contracts mode for Hitman: Absolution turns all of the NPCs in a level into potential targets. Instead of simply going from point A to B, Agent 47 can now take out the poor suckers in-between. For points!

To be fair, the Hitman: Absolution community has already created their own version of challenging kills on forums and the like, but IO Interactive thought that this good idea should be expanded. Beyond the featured contracts that the designers have created, players can also create challenges that will test the community to match their skills.

While playing through a level, a player can mark up to three targets for assassination and proceed to kill them using specific weapons and methods, thereby setting the parameters of the challenge and simultaneously proving that it can be done. Sure, it may be badass to slash a police officer in the neck with knife, but wouldn't it more crafty to arm a safe with C4 and deviously lure said officer into the room with a radio?

After the starting disguise and weapon are set, the challenge can then be uploaded. From there, the community can play these user-created contracts, gaining points for clearing the level quickly and for completing each objective and bonus condition. As you might expect, the total score is then placed in a leaderboard for bragging rights.
