PUBG Update 1 23 18: Guns Removed From Lobby, Bug Fixes and More

The PUBG update 1.0 #3 has gone live, bringing with it a few changes to the PC version of the game.

Much like the Xbox One version of the survival game, which has frequently been receiving its own patches, Bluehole has deployed a number of improvements for its PC equivalent. This includes removing guns from the pre-match starting area, ensuring that players will no longer have to endure the headache of hearing 30 weapons being fired into nothingness all at once.

Bluehole has also introduced multiple starting areas on both maps in order to improve the game’s performance, meaning that 100 players will no longer be shoved onto one island.

While the game’s singular pre-match starting area and the wanton chaos it brings has been a staple of PUBG since its release, if you’re a regular PUBG player then having to listen to the sound of so many weapons being fired simultaneously can be a headache. Fitting 100 players into one island also created issues for players with lower-end PCs, with PUBG not exactly being the most well-optimized game in the first place. Hopefully, these changes will serve to reduce some of the strain both on Bluehole’s servers and players’ PCs.
