Dota 2 Spring Cleaning Update Drops: Full 7.08 Patch Notes

The Dota 2 Spring Cleaning Update 7.08, an annual overhaul of the MOBA by developers Valve, is live, bringing players patch notes detailing “quality of life” changes, bug fixes, and small gameplay adjustments.

The full, frankly overwhelming list of everything included in the Dota 2 Spring Cleaning Update 7.08 is available on the official site, but there are some key changes that are worth pulling out. Player profiles have undergone a change, now looking a little more streamlined, and coming with the ability to look at your previous match performance. Maybe not such a good change if you’re on a bad run and don’t want to be reminded of it…

Elsewhere, you can now track gameplay changes far more easily by hovering over a hero’s icon. Useful for when you’re certain someone has been nerfed but you can’t quite put your finger on why. For those with an eSports bent, there is now a tab for Live Pro Circuit Tournaments.

In terms of keeping a warm community spirit, Valve has also announced the implementation of six-month bans for those with an “extreme frequency of negative behavior.” Pro tip to steer clear of this: don’t cheat; don’t curse; be a good egg.

Speaking of, well, speaking, matchmaking now gives a greater priority to your native language when searching for matches. Keep that Spanish phrasebook handy, however. You never know when you might need it.

There are even a few nifty cosmetic changes. Yours and your opponent’s towers will show signs of wear and tear over the course of a game from now on, as well as a color-coded teleport to make things that much easier.

If you’re really into Dota 2, you’ll be glad to know there are literally hundreds of more patch notes to pore over, addressing everything from input latency to, uhh, enchanted mango buffs. Have fun.
