Fortnite is already filled to the brim with skins and other accessories, so what’s one more to add to the pile? Unfortunately, despite the successes of Marvel’s recent superhero smash, a Black Panther Fortnite skin is not on the horizon… for now. So where did this rumor come from, and what’s next for Fortnite skins?
Any such rumors seem to stem from a post found on Epic’s forum. It’s an impressive mock-up but, as of right now, there are seemingly no plans for any Fortnite licensed gear, least of all T’Challa’s iconic Black Panther suit. Still, though, with Rocket League teaming up with DC, it begs the question whether Fortnite will follow suit.
While things are light on the ground when it comes to a Black Panther Fortnite skin, there are skins possibly on the way. They include a Fortnite dinosaur skin (which has been confirmed: details on how to unlock it here), Burnout outfit, and the pair of Radiant Striker and Brilliant Striker outfits.
If you’re still itching for a Black Panther Fortnite skin, you could do a lot worse than getting your hands on the Fortnite Twitch Prime skins, squinting a little bit, and run around pretend you’re Erik Killmonger in his pre-Wakanda days.
It’ll sure be interesting to see how Fortnite chooses to forge ahead when it comes to new skins. Yes, the game is still free-to-play, but a selection of licensed skins would turn Epic’s offices into a Scrooge McDuck-style vault. A Black Panther Fortnite skin would certainly be the best (and most timely) skin to kick off any such plan but, for now, you’ll have to make do with monkey gods, T-Rexes and astronauts.
