Do you enjoy the Halo universe but have a bit of trouble wrapping your head around a few of the series' more obscure plot points? You're not alone, and the guys at 343i are well aware that not every person looking forward to Halo 4's campaign has read every novel, seen every terminal, or played every game.
In an interview with VG247, 343i's Frank O'Connor explained that they've aimed to tell the story of Halo 4 in such a way that appeals to both the hardcore fan and the casual player:
There’s a bunch of ways that we tell the story, and it’s very complete if you haven’t read any of the books or played any of the previous games. Everything you need to know about the characters, backstory and Forerunner civilization is built into the game. [We] tried to make the story more approachable and less baroque and obscure, so it’s all going to be right in your face, and hopefully people will enjoy that. But yeah, it’s all part of the story.
O'Connor went on to discuss the terminals within the game, and how they will offer plenty of additional story content that will please the loyal Halo enthusiast:
I won’t ruin it for you but we also have terminals that go into the very surprising history of the Forerunner relationship with humans, and there’s some stuff that happens in the terminals that will—certainly for the hardcore fans—blow their minds.
343i announced earlier today that the game has officially gone gold and will include the Flood in a new multiplayer mode. For more news on Halo 4 and all things gaming, keep it locked to GameRevolution.
