Fortnite Sniper Shootout v2 is the latest featured limited time mode, taking over from Blitz Mode. As “v2” suggests, this game type has been revamped to be even more fun. Epic Games has made some significant changes to the Sniper Shootout formula, which should put a bigger focus on sniping with skill. Here’s what you need to know about the Fortnite Sniper Shootout v2 limited time mode.
Fortnite Sniper Shootout v2: What Are the Rules?
Fortnite Sniper Shootout v2 is all about sniping. (I know, big surprise there!) Players will find sniper rifles, hunting rifles and crossbows with which to arm themselves. What’s more, legendary weapons will only be found in supply drops, and epic variants will only appear in treasure chests.
As a general strategy, players will want to quickly grab a sniper rifle (arguably the best weapons in this mode), before finding a good vantage point. With the ability to snipe enemies from afar, it’s a good idea to stick to areas with a long line-of-sight.
Fortnite Sniper Shootout v2: What’s Changed?
Fortnite Sniper Shootout v2 differs a lot from the original version. This time around, players will no longer have access to the revolver weapon, putting a much bigger focus on being able to snipe in close-quarters engagements. In the revolver’s place are the hunting rifle and crossbow. These two weapons require a lot of skill to use, and will likely be ignored by most players. If you’re skillful enough, consider using a crossbow for an entire round. That would be an epic challenge!
Another big change in Fortnite Sniper Shootout v2 is the disabling of the down state. Players will no longer be able to get revived, with a down meaning instant elimination. This makes those sniper headshots even more deadly! Keep your eyes open, as a single mistake can mean you’re out for the round!
