New PUBG Update

New PUBG Update Adds Killer Spectate Mode to PC

A new PUBG update is rolling out to the PC Test Server, giving players the chance to trial features coming in the PUBG Update 9 patch. The latest game update adds the new “Killer Spectate” mode, tweaks voice chat settings, and fixes a few bugs.

New PUBG Update: Killer Spectate Mode

When a player has died, the new Killer Spectate mode allows them to watch their killer. This adds a bit of extra endgame fun to a round, where dead players can feel satisfied watching their murderer get taken out. Of course, there is the possibility that the killer wins, which will no doubt add salt to the wound.

If a player dies to the Blue Zone, Red Zone or from falling, they will have the option of spectating the nearest player from the death location. If the player being spectated dies, their killer will then be spectated. The Duo and Squad modes require all friendly players be dead before spectating is enabled. This is obviously to prevent cheating, as players could relay the enemy’s location to their teammates. Once all teammates have been downed, players will then switch to spectating the last dead teammate’s killer.

Other changes include the default chat setting being adjusted to “Team Only,” which should prevent players accidentally giving away their position to the entire lobby. (I’ve seen this happen way too many times. It’s funny when you track down enemies making this mistake, but it’s not so great when they are on your team!)

Fixed bugs include the occasions when vehicles would suddenly flip or go flying, or go back to the starting point while driving. Another fix ensures that the IGN of a killer is shown during the Death Cam. The rotation axis on the preview model in the Customization tab has been adjusted for “better usability.”
