The newly-announced Fortnite Port-a-Fort grenade will soon be added to the Battle Royale mode, giving players a new tool to use against their many enemies. The new Port-a-Fort grenade doesn’t dish out damage directly, but will still be a fantastic tool in offensive plays, as well as being great for defense. What Does the Fortnite Port-a-Fort Do?
Epic Games has revealed the Fortnite Port-a-Fort item on the in-game Battle Royale “News” tab. In the brief description provided, we’re told that the “new portable fort sprouts a quick defensive position upon impact.”
Essentially, the Port-a-Fort item is a quick-and-easy alternative to rapidly building a bunch of walls for cover. Rather than stressing about building quickly when under fire, players will be able to toss a Port-a-Fort and have cover immediately available.
The Port-a-Fort will be especially attractive to newcomers, who aren’t perhaps experienced enough in the art of building swiftly. The Port-a-Fort will give any player the ability to quickly deploy cover, regardless of skill level.With that said, I think Fortnite veterans will also be able to have fun with the Port-a-Fort. I imagine many players will try to experiment with the sudden spawn of cover, which might be used near to the enemy, to quickly trap them. I’m sure we’ll see a lot of creativity from the Fortnite community.
What Is the Fortnite Port-a-Fort Release Date?
The exact Fortnite Port-a-Fort release date isn’t yet known, but Epic Games has teased that the item will be “coming soon.” This often means that we’ll see the item launch in the same week.
However, items like the Fortnite jetpack have been delayed in the past, so it’s possible that the Port-a-Fort won’t be launching so soon. Stay excited, but bear in mind that delays can happen.
