For the individuals who remember Star Fox Zero, the news of a possible leak of a new Star Fox game, especially one called Star Fox Grand Prix, may lead to a particular kind of anxiety out of fear of disappointment. But, naysayers aside, the suggestion of a new adventure for Star Fox could be true, and not just any old game. A Star Fox racing spin-off.
It seems improbable that Nintendo Retro Studios would create such a game, yet there have been more than a dozen posts on Reddit that claim otherwise, as well as multiple gaming sites and blogs. And if that isn’t enough to convince you, Eurogamer have stated that they too have heard of the Star Fox racing spin-off from their sources.
More details were revealed through Reddit user DasVergeben, a user who provided leaks previously about games such as Soul Calibur VI, that compared Retro’s Star Fox project as a racing game “like Diddy Kong Racing mixed with F-Zero.”
He also provided details about what else we could expect to see from the game. “It will have an adventure mode of some kind (think Diddy Kong Racing) and there will be some boss fights and a hub world like it too.” This all sounds pretty fun, especially for newcomers who aren’t too sure where to start with Star Fox, but that still leaves a lot of questions for fans of the series.
While the name (and the game itself) hasn’t been proven, a logo for Star Fox Grand Prix separately appeared on 4chan, which is more than enough reason for anyone to take this information with a pinch of salt. You can also view the picture yourself, below.
