XCOM 2

PS Plus Free Games June 2018: XCOM 2, Trials Fusion and More

Sony has announced the PS Plus Free Games for the month of June 2018. There will be two games for each platform, including the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. One of them is a great underrated gem, which also happens to be one of my favorite games of all time. All of these games will be accessible for PS Plus subscribers starting from June 5th, 2018.

PS Plus Free Games June 2018: XCOM 2

As revealed on PlayStation Blog, the biggest free game offered in June’s line-up has got to be XCOM 2. Developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games, it was initially released on the PC in February 2016 before finally releasing on consoles a few months later. XCOM 2 is another excellent strategy game from the developers of the iconic Civilization game franchise. As the sequel to 2012’s XCOM: Enemy Unknown, players assume the role of the Commander of a resistance force made up of humanity’s remaining remnants against the occupation of Earth by sinister aliens.

It’s a tactical turn-based strategy, so it all comes down to position and RNG (random number generator), which determines the probability of players’ actions to succeed or fail. The XCOM series is notorious for being extremely difficult and players (including myself) have often resorted to save scumming to win the game. The War of The Chosen expansion is totally recommended, as it provides more content. Nothing beats the satisfaction of killing alien scum in XCOM 2.

PS Plus Free Games June 2018: Other Games

PS4 owners also receive Trials Fusion, which is a platform-racing game developed by Redlynx and Ubisoft. The rest of June 2018’s line-up is as follows:

  • Zombie Driver HD (PS3)
  • Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (PS3)
  • Atomic Ninjas (PS Vita)
  • Squares (PS Vita)

Here’s a friendly reminder that players don’t have to download the free games to redeem them. Players can simply add the free games to their library and it will stay there for as long as their PS Plus subscription lasts. At least that way they can download the games at any time without worrying about losing those free games.
