Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection: What Games Can I Play Online?

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is an incredible achievement in terms of collecting together gaming’s premiere fighting series into one easy-to-digest package. However, there may be one aspect of the title that could prove hard to swallow: the online games. Despite 12 games/variations of games appearing in the collection, only a third of those are able to be played online. Read on to find out which ones, including what modes are available to you.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection: What Games Can I Play Online?

Only four games of the 12 in the package have an online component (or training mode, for that matter). They are: Street Fighter 2: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.

So, if you’re on the fence about reliving your World Warrior days and jumping into this collection, you should be forewarned that not every game comes with a modern, global update. In fact, many fans are upset at the lack of online capabiltiies of Alphaand more complete versions of other games being available elsewhere, such as 3rd Strike Online.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection: Online Modes

Each of the above four titles comes packed with Online Arcade, where you can replay each game’s arcade mode with the addition of being challenged along the way by online opponents. As well as this, there is the typical Ranked Match and Casual Match options for those who want a proper tussle or a training tune-up alike. There’s also the option to create or join lobbies, leaderboards, and to even set the online input lag to improve upon facing lesser connections, on a scale from 0 (less compensatory, but more stable for better connections) to 8. There is no online training mode available, so those who were looking to spar with their friends may be left disappointed.
