Tales of Vesperia Remaster 10th Anniversary

E3 2018: Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition Switch, Xbox One, PC, and PS4 Versions Announced.

Turns out rumors of a Tales of Vesperia remaster were true. At today’s E3 2018 Microsoft conference Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition was shown and brings enhanced graphics and features that never made it to the US. Tales of Vesperia will be coming to the Switch, Xbox One, PC, and PS4 so no matter what current-gen platform you have you’ll be able to play it.

Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition is upscaled so it’ll look great on larger TVs and monitors. However, we haven’t heard of any extra content other than what was exclusive to the Japanese PS3 version of the game. Thankfully, this is one game that doesn’t really need any added content to make it good. It’s already amazing.

For those unfamiliar, Tales of Vesperia was released in 2008 and centers around the story of Yuri Lowell, a former Imperial Knight, and how a mission to save his neighborhood spirals out of control leading you across the whole world. The Tales games really hold up well, in part because of the combat system. Instead of the turn-based system that JRPGs are known for, the game uses the Linear Motion Battle System which takes place in real-time. You take control of one character and tweak the AI of three others to fight enemies.

I’m pumped to play Tales of Vesperia on Switch personally, but you’ll get a chance to check it out on a platform of your choice sometime this Winter.
