Soulcalibur 6 is coming out on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 19, 2018, according to a new story trailer released by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game initially unveiled with just a 2018 release window but this new trailer confirms the exact date the game will be released.
The new story trailer previews the story of the game so far, which takes place in the 16th century and revisits the events of the first game, and features some of the game’s would-be characters, including Taki, Siegfried, Ivy, Zasalamel, Sophitia, Mitsurugi, Nightmare, Xianghua, Kilik, and Groh. Guest characters such as Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher series have also been confirmed to be part of the game’s roster.
The trailer also showed off the game’s Deluxe Edition and Collector’s Edition. The Deluxe Edition will include a copy of the game, a steelbook case with a built-in sound box, the game’s soundtrack on CD, and the game’s season pass which includes four playable characters and two armor packs.
The expectedly more expensive Collector’s Edition (pictured above) will come the game itself, the soundtrack, the steelbook case with built-in music box, a 120-page art book, and a 12-inch Sophitia figure. Surprisingly, the Collector’s Edition does not include the season pass from the Deluxe Edition, so those who want to get the season pass content will have to buy it separately.
It has also been previously revealed that Soulcalibur 6 will introduce a new mechanica called Reversal Edge, which allows players to defend against an oncoming attack and quick react with their own. Gameplay mechanics from older entries in the series are also making a comeback, including ring outs, versus mode, and online multiplayer modes.
Soulcalibur 6, the sixth main game in the series, is scheduled for release on October 19, 2018, on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Bandai Namco has promised that more information on the game’s story should be announced in the coming days. You can check out the new story trailer below:
