It’s almost that time of year. Amazon Prime Day 2018 is nearly upon us. As you can expect, customers are already mentally queuing up round the block to get their hands on (if last year is any indication) some utterly ridiculous video game deals. So, when does Amazon Prime Day 2018 start and what can we expect?
Amazon Prime Day 2018: What is Amazon Prime Day?
Designed to shower Amazon Prime customers with discounts, Amazon Prime Day is, until this year, a 24-hour period in which flash sales crop up on the main Amazon storefront at different intervals. Products can include everything from clothing, books and, yep, video games. It’s basically Black Friday but, inexplicably, even bigger.
Amazon Prime Day 2018: Start and End Date
As spotted by TechRadar, Amazon Prime Day 2018 will run from Monday, July 16 at 12pm BST and end Tuesday, July 17 at 6pm BST in the UK. The US start date hasn’t yet been announced but expect it to run from the same date July 16-17, with a possible start time of 9am PST/12pm EST
Amazon Prime Day 2018: Expected Games Deals
Everything from cheaper subscriptions to inexpensive accessories will be the name of the game when it comes to Amazon Prime Day 2018. If last year is any indication, console bundles will be the hot ticket. So, if you’re saving up for a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X bundle then July 16-July 17 may be the best time to get one.
Also, some of 2018’s biggest releases could have $10-$20 knocked off of it. While many of the big titles could be excluded, the likes of Ni no Kuni 2 could be as cheap as they’ll get all year. However, it’s worth noting that Amazon appears to be going through an ongoing dispute with Sony, so first-party discounts on games such as God of War may be out of the question.
