Epic Games has detailed the Fortnite 4.5 patch notes, which include information on the brand new Playground limited time mode, which acts as an area where players can get to grips with the mechanics, practicing building and fighting against friends. In addition to this, the Fortnite 4.5 update introduces many other changes and improvements to both the Battle Royale and Save the World components. Here are the Fortnite 4.5 patch notes highlights.
Fortnite 4.5 Patch Notes
The main new feature detailed in the Fortnite 4.5 patch notes is the Playground mode. This limited time mode gives players the chance to practice on their own private island. Each round lasts one hour, during which players can create, play, and train. The mode supports four players and friendly fire is on. The storm is enabled, but doesn’t start closing in for 55 minutes. A whopping 100 llamas will be spawned on the map. Also, chests and ammo boxes spawn in their locations 100% of the time.
The second new limited time mode comes in the form of Final Fight Teams of 12. If you’re unfamiliar with the Final Fight variant, it plays similarly to standard Battle Royale, but instead of the storm closing all of the way in, it stops after the third phase. Teams then fight to have the most players alive.
Battle Royale players will also be able to dual-wield pistols. These are available in Epic and Legendary variants, use medium ammo, and can be found from floor loot, chests, and supply drops. It’s important to note that dual pistols do not grant first-shot accuracy!
Save the World has also gotten some love in the form of Blockbuster Pasrt 4: The Finale, which is the conclusion to the questline, allowing players to choose a Shadow Ops hero.
