Can you remember a time before Fortnite? We suppose if you really looked back you might be able to, but if we’re honest with each other, we can’t really remember those times all too well. However, some people aren’t as ecstatic as players that Fortnite exists, especially since ban Fortnite petitions have been popping up all over the internet ever since it really started to become prominent outside of social media. It’s safe to say that Epic Game’s Battle Royale game is a lot like marmite because, depending on who you are, you either love it or hate it.
That remains true for a school in Sydney, Australia. GoTo.Game received a report about a school in Sydney sending out an email to parents expressing their concern about Fortnite and how it was affecting their students, which of course led to the school asking parents to ban their children from playing the game. The email can be read below.
Of course, we’re not too sure if the email is actually 100% authentic. As you can see, it is rife with grammatical errors that only a toddler could make and so we’d understand if you’re not convinced by the email either. Yet, regardless of its authenticity, it doesn’t change the fact that there are institutions out there wanting the game to be banned to protect children.
What’s more, it is no secret that children, video game addiction, and Fortnite often go hand-in-hand when it comes to the media. For that reason, so many outlets are speaking about this issue and connecting it with Fortnite which is why the email (whether fake or not) is relevant to how the battle royale is received by people.
But what are your opinions on the matter? Do you believe that this is all just some cooked-up rumor that plain stinks, or do you really think there is an issue about Fortnite and its effect on children that needs more discussion? Let us know in the comments below.
