Breath of the Wild Items Coming to Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate

Monster Hunter World was quite a bit hit for Capcom earlier this year but it was not available on the Switch. Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is a different game, but it is coming to the console next month and will contain some Nintendo-related surprises. As shown by the reveal trailer, Generations Ultimate will have gear inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It showed a couple tunics, weapons, and a Palico suit that resembled the ever-popular Tingle. These items will be in the game when it launches on August 28 on the Switch.

Breath of the Wild has been showing up in other games, which is not surprising given its overwhelming success. Nintendo announced last night that the Master Cycle Zero from Breath of the Wild was coming in yesterday’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe update, along with some other content inspired by the game. That version of Link is in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which is slated to come out this December.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is an expanded version of Monster Hunter XX, a Japan-only update of Monster Hunter Generations, the original 3DS game that came out in 2015. It features Deviant monsters that have new abilities over their normal versions. Harder quests will also be in the game along with two new gameplay styles.

This is not the first time Nintendo icons have showed up in other non-Nintendo developed games. Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 both had Nintendo costumes when they came out on the Wii U.

Monster Hunter is no stranger to crossover costumes. Monster Hunter World has had events that let players earn items from Devil May CryStreet Fighter, Mega Man, and Final Fantasy 14. The game even held an event that rewarded players with cosmetics from Horizon Zero Dawn but it was only in the PS4 version.
