More Mega Man Coming From Capcom In The Future

This year marks a whopping 25 years of Mega Man, but Capcom made it clear several months ago that they wouldn't be celebrating the momentous occasion with the release (or even announcement) of a new game, leaving the entire gaming world wondering whether or not they've shelved the franchise for good.

Fortunately, that is hardly the case, as Capcom USA senior vice president Christian Svensson told Nintendo Power that the publisher plans to deliver plenty more Mega Man to both handhelds and consoles. "I can say with certainty that you’ve not seen the last of the Blue Bomber on consoles and handhelds, and, with luck, we’ll be celebrating his 50th anniversary, including all of the games you’re going to enjoy over the next 25 years."

Sadly, the company does not have anything tangible to reveal quite yet. "That said, an issue we’ve had in the past has been talking about games and announcing them before we’re certain they’re going to come out, which unfortunately has lead to profound disappointment for many fans," he explained. "So for now, I’m going to have to stay mum about any details."
