If (like me) you've been whining about the fact that Microsoft's first-party software lineup is pathetically thin, you'll be pleased to know that some exciting new stuff is currently in the works at the company's Vancouver branch, which has just been renamed Black Tusk Studios.
In an interview with the Vancouver Sun, studio manager Mike Crump revealed that he and his team are hoping to build the next big Microsoft exclusive. "We are working on Microsoft’s next big entertainment franchise. We’re not working on an existing franchise, we’re looking to build the next Halo here in Vancouver, for example, which is really exciting. We are building something from the ground up,” he said.
The thought of a brand-new IP makes me giddy with delight. With rumors that the next Xbox will launch sometime late next year, I'd say it's safe to assume we'll be seeing their first effort on the 720—or whatever you want to call Microsoft's next box.
