With a severe lack of software for such a promising piece of hardware, it's easy to understand gamers' frustration with the Vita. That is why the pledge made by Ken Levine to bring BioShock to Sony's handheld has been such a hot topic ever since he stepped onto Sony's stage at E3 last year.
Right now, Irrational Games has their hands full with BioShock Infinite—in case you haven't heard, it got delayed again—so we likely won't see a BioShock Vita game from them all too soon. However, Levine did speak with Eurogamer about the highly anticipated portable title, saying that they've got some great ideas, but unfortunately have to wait on the big business execs before they can move forward.
Where the Vita stands right now, it’s in the hands of the business people at Take-Two and the business people at Sony working out, hey, what happens in these business people discussions? Fortunately I don’t have to take part in it any more because I sold my company a long time ago.
It’s something I’m still very interested in. I still have a cool design for it. It’s a question of, do those guys come to find the right mix that makes everybody happy to make that happen?
Levine went on to clarify that this Vita game won't necessarily be a BioShock Infinite port. “I’ve never said it was Infinite. It will be something. I’m always hesitant to talk too much about things we don’t have anything to show because it’s getting ahead of ourselves," he added.
How badly would you like to see BioShock come to the Vita? Would an experience like this convince you to shell out the cash for Sony's handheld? Let us know in the comments below.
