EGX 2018: Life is Strange 2, Kingdom Hearts 3 Playable at Square Enix Booth

Square Enix is bringing two of its most anticipated games to EGX 2018. The video game publisher has revealed that Life is Strange 2 and Kingdom Hearts III will be playable, alongside other titles, at its booth later this month. A statement released on the official EGX website confirmed their presence at the NEC Arena in Birmingham, and explained what would be on offer.

Life is Strange 2, the follow up to Dontnod’s acclaimed first game, will be playable for the first time in the U.K. at EGX. Players will get hands-on previews with the title, which is set in Seattle and follows brothers Sean and Daniel as they journey to Mexico. Life is Strange 2 special guest appearances have also been teased, but nothing concrete has come out. The first episode of Life is Strange 2 drops on September 27 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Kingdom Hearts III is the final chapter in Square Enix’s beloved crossover action role-playing series. EGX attendees can play two demos at the company’s booth, which are based on Disney films Toy Story and Hercules. The first sees players tasked with uncovering the toy box with Toy Story protagonists Woody and Buzz Lightyear.

The second, meanwhile, lets players face Hercules villain Rock Titan in a boss battle. EGX visitors can also grab a photo opportunity with Kingdom Hearts‘ legendary Keyblade, or as a character in Toy Story. Kingdom Hearts III releases on January 25, 2019 on PS4 and Xbox One.

Square Enix will also offer attendees the chance to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the final installment in Crystal Dynamics’ Lara Croft origin story. Another upcoming title, Just Cause 4, will feature at the booth too, and allow visitors to get a sneak peak at some new Rico Rodriguez action before the game lands on Xbox One, PC, and PS4 on December 4.
