Overwatch Dorado’s Bells Easter Egg: How To Make Hammond Sing

Wrecking BallOverwatch‘s newest hero, made his full debut on July 24, 2018. Wrecking Ball is actually only the name of the mech, though, which is piloted by Hammond the hamster. Hammond was part of the same experimental genetics program as Winston, and is therefore incredibly intelligent for a hamster. However, he can’t speak any languages, which is why his mech translates his hamster speech. This makes it all the more amazing that Hammond sings in Overwatchthanks to the recent discovery of the Dorado’s Bells Easter Egg.

Overwatch Dorado’s Bells Easter Egg: How To Make Hammond Sing

A recent Reddit post by Owlero brought attention to the newly discovered Easter egg. It is well known that players can ring the bells in the attacker’s spawn on Dorado by shooting them, and the three bells directly above the player at spawn are often used to perform an ill-timed rendition of the Futurama theme, with lots of unwanted interruptions by other players throughout. However, what wasn’t widely known until recently is that there’s actually a fourth bell in the spawn, which can be used to play an Overwatch theme—specifically, the theme that plays before the start of a round. The fourth bell is to the right of the other three, if you’re looking at them from the courtyard in which you spawn. Turn 90 degrees to the right, and you’ll see it.

Overwatch Dorado’s Bells Easter Egg: How To Play The Theme

The sequence that needs to be played by Hammond in order to make him sing is the following:

  • Middle bell
  • Left bell
  • Middle bell
  • Right bell
  • Left bell
  • Right bell
  • Fourth bell

Playing this as Hammond will cause him to finish the melody in his amazing hamster pitch. It is unknown at present whether there are any other heroes who will sing along, but this could be a Hammond-exclusive Easter egg that was only put into the game with his release.
