Assassin's Creed Odyssey Recruit Crew

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Recruit Crew – How to Get More Lieutenants

Getting crew for your ship in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will grant you bonuses to your damage, abilities, and more. Recruiting more crew can be a bit tricky, but you have plenty of opportunities to do so once you get the hang of it. Below is everything you need to know to recruit more Lieutenants for your ship in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

How to Recruit Crew in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

There are two ways to get more Lieutenants for your ship in AC: Odyssey. The first, and typically most straightforward, is to complete quests for certain NPCs you find around the Greek world. Scattered throughout the game, you’ll run into people who will give you a short quest, and upon completion, they’ll join your crew.

The best way to find NPCs to join your crew is to search islands, and along coasts, though, they’ll pop up all over. Just talk to everyone you meet, and you’ll find plenty of new Lieutenants for your ship.

However, the best way to get strong crew members early on is to recruit them from battle. Almost everyone you fight will join your ship under the right circumstances. However, you have to knock them out instead of killing them.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Paralyzing Arrows

To knock people out consistently, you’re going to need to grab an ability. There’s a chance of incapacitating an enemy instead of killing them with certain weapons, but the best way to do it is with Paralyzing Arrows. To unlock Paralyzing Arrows, you must unlock the Arrow Master ability. You can then craft them by accessing your quiver in your inventory screen.

You can switch between regular and Paralyzing Arrows by pressing left on the d-pad. When performing a killing blow with one of these arrows, you’ll actually knock the target to the ground. You can tell when they’re knocked down instead of dead if their level symbol still appears above their body.

Once a target is knocked down, you can stand over them and click in on the right stick to recruit them. The rule of thumb is: the stronger the enemy, the better the Lieutenant they’ll be. Bounty hunters and Polemarches usually are legendary grade, while stronger regular soldiers typically make rare grade Lieutenants.

There are also epic grade crew members out there, but you’ll have to adventure to find them.
