Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – How To Use Stealth, Best Stealth Abilities and Upgrades

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is out this week, and while it’s a pretty great entry in the series it does have some problems. One of those problems is that stealth can be far trickier than it is in Assassin’s Creed Origins. In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey stealth can be an excellent tool, but it may not be so easy to pull off. So let us show you how to use stealth effectively!

How to Use Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Stealth Effectively

When approaching a location where stealth would be useful, such as a fort, it’s always important to think and plan ahead. Therefore, always start off by using Ikaros to tag enemies and any location objectives. Once you’ve thoroughly tagged everything inside, choose the path with the least resistance, or one of the secret entrances (Ikaros can also tag these), then enter.

Make sure to stay crouched at all times, and be patient. It’s important to try and stay hidden, either behind walls or in any plant undergrowth. Approach lone enemies (make sure no one can see) and Assassinate, preferably while still hidden in a bush because then your character will drag them into it. Be careful note to get an enemy with too high a level, otherwise you may not kill them in one hit. If you can, pick up the body and hide it somewhere.

Make your way around the fort, always crouched, picking off lone enemies one at a time. If there’s a caged animal release it by shooting the cage with an arrow, it’ll make a nice distraction and may give you more opportunities for stealth kills elsewhere. If you get spotted don’t panic, either run away and hide again or kill the one who saw you quickly and quietly. Just be careful and patient and you should make it out alive. If someone heads to light the brazier though, the jig’s up.

Best Stealth Upgrades in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

The main factor you’ll need for effective stealth kills is Assassin damage, so make sure you have armor and weapons that support that skill. The same goes for Abilities: as you level up, you’ll want to put points into the Assassin path. ‘Shadow Assassin’ increases the damage of your Assassinate skill, allowing you to do stealth kills on stronger opponents (or just more instant damage to them). ‘Revelation’ reveals secrets, including hidden passageways and loot, but also tags nearby enemies if you missed some. ‘Vanish’ stuns enemies so you can escape. ‘Rush Assassination’ allows for a long-distance stealth kill. ‘Stealth Master’ reduces the noise you make. Try a mix of these and see how you do!
