The Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Day One patch is now live. The Assassin’s Creed Odyssey 1.02 update arrives with a size of around 2 GB on the PS4 and Xbox One. However, this will only apply to those who have purchased the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Gold, Ultimate, or Collectors Editions, since these versions of the game unlock several days earlier than the actual release date on October 5, 2018.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Day One Patch – Gameplay Improvements
According to the patch notes provided by Ubisoft, the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Day One patch actually comes with significant changes and improvements to the game. The Day One update makes Lieutenants in the game scale with the player for both Boarding and Call to Arms.
Other new gameplay features include the addition of the “Historical Locations” filter to the World Map and the increased diversity in haircuts. Additionally, the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey 1.02 update also addresses many “game-breakers” which happen in specific conditions.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Day One Patch – Technical Improvements
In the past, Assassin’s Creed games have sometimes been notorious for being ridden with bugs and glitches at launch. As such, the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey patch 1.02 arrives with various bug fixes, including general improvements to performance and stability. Bug fixes stated in the patch notes include reduced loading times in various areas including before flashbacks and dialogues, as well as the reduced occurrence of low-resolution textures on up close NPCs and objects.
Keep in mind that the Day One patch should already be included in the pre-load of the game, prior to early access. Seeing as there are still a few days remaining to the official release date of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the developer might have time to crank out another minor update or two before October 5, 2018.
