New Zelda Game

New Zelda Game Hinted at by Nintendo Job Listings

Nintendo has posted several new Zelda job listings on its official job page. While none of the new job listings specifically mention that Nintendo is looking to make the next Legend of Zelda game, it is as good an indicator as any. Nintendo could very well be already making a new Zelda game.

Nintendo’s official job listings page is offering two jobs pertaining to a potential new Legend of Zelda game. Unfortunately, the postings are in Japanese, but guru-guru was on hand to translate them on ResetEra. The new jobs are as follows:

  • 3DCG Designer: This is “for terrain/topography production for stuff such as the field and dungeons.” Experience in “making backgrounds in Maya and Adobe Photoshop,” “experience working on HD hardware,” and “Japanese fluency” are all required. “Interest in Zelda” will help any applicants.
  • Level Designer: Nintendo is “looking for someone to plan game events, the field, dungeons, as well as enemies.” Requirements for the position are as follows: “experience working as a game planner for consumer games [and] Japanese fluency.”

That is all there is to the two job listings. While it isn’t explicitly said that Nintendo is beginning to develop a new Zelda game, these jobs definitely have something to do with the franchise. This could be anything, however. Nintendo could be developing new Breath of the Wild DLC, a spin-off, or even a mobile game. Either of these Zelda job listings could also pertain to a potential Switch HD remake of a classic Zelda title, too.

This isn’t the first time that Nintendo has posted job listings regarding Zelda this year, either. Back in May, Nintendo offered jobs in the fields of game planning and level designers, with Zelda in mind. While we don’t know for sure if Nintendo is developing the follow-up to Breath of the Wild, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched. Nintendo as a company likes to start production on titles and hardware years in advance. We’ll let you know as soon as we know more.
