Ubisoft Issues Statement Regarding THQ Assets Acquired Including New IP

Ubisoft came away from the THQ auction with some pretty killer stuff, including publishing rights to South Park: The Stick of Truth and THQ's Montreal studio.

The publisher has since released a statement regarding their purchases, noting that THQ Montreal has an unannounced IP in the works as well.

In addition to the team at THQ Montreal, Ubisoft also acquired a new, yet-to-be announced IP in development at the studio. THQ Montreal will join Ubisoft’s development teams, already the second-largest in-house development staff in the world with 26 studios in 19 countries and more than 6,250 people dedicated to video game production.

Ubisoft went on to address the current state of Obsidian's highly anticipated South Park RPG, which appears to be moving along as planned. "South Park: The Stick of Truth is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the studio behind Fallout: New Vegas, and is scheduled for release in calendar 2013,” the statement adds.

What could this new, unannounced IP be? Stay tuned to Game Revolution to find out!
