Burnout Paradise 2 Teased By Criterion, Is It A Next-Gen Launch Title?

"Take me down to Paradise City where the grass is green and the girls are pretty." Well, at least the cars are, anyway.

Criterion Games Creative Director Alex Ward teased the possibility of a sequel to Burnout Paradise with the most unsubtle Tweet imaginable. He posted:

If we were to make a sequel to Burnout Paradise – what should be in it? #BurnoutParadise2

Criterion Games just released Need for Speed: Most Wanted and no future projects have been announced. Therefore, the possibility of a Burnout Paradise 2 is realistic.

This begs the question, could Burnout Paradise 2 be a next-gen game? Criterion pushed the racing genre to new heights with Burnout Paradise in 2008 using a highly-detailed open-world, which was new to the series at the time, and impressive damage modeling. Current generation hardware dampens the potential for the next game, and more RAM alone could improve the game space tremendously.

With Criterion typically releasing one game per year, we can expect whatever its cooking to come within the next 12 months, and later this year Sony and Microsoft are expected to relase their new hardware. It's a match made in heaven.

Next-gen rumors aside, what would you like to see from a sequel to Burnout Paradise?
