Club Nintendo Policy Changes In Wake Of PSN Hacks

Remember yesterday when I said that getting your identity stolen was like stepping in dog shit? You know… how it stinks? How you curse the person responsible? Yeah, Nintendo doesn't want those profanities flying in their direction.

In response to the PSN hacking and theft of user information, Club Nintendo will begin asking users for permission to gather their personal information. It's nice of them to warn you, but there's one thing they won't be warning you about.

If you're already a Club Nintendo member and you respond negatively to Club Nintendo's inquiry, be prepared to have your membership canceled and all of your Star points deleted from record:

At Nintendo we respect the privacy rights of our online visitors and we recognise the importance of protecting your personal details. To allow us to implement additional features on our website, to improve our products and to adapt them to our users' needs and preferences, we need your permission to gather information about your online activities on our website and with Nintendo products. We look forward to seeing you again on our website soon, and hope you will enjoy the new generation in video gaming together with us.

See? I told you they weren't going to warn you about the possibility of your account getting deleted! On another note, did you know that British people spell recognize with an "s" like recognise. You crazy brits!
