Despite being out for over three months as of writing, there are still issues plaguing people’s games of Call of Duty Black Ops 4. One such question that is still being asked is this: Can you change class when joining a Black Ops 4 game? Read on to discover what the problem is, and if there’s a fix for joining a Black Ops 4 game halfway through and not being able to choose a Specialist or change your class.
What is the Black Ops 4 class change problem?
Ever since release, people have been complaining that they are unable to choose their Specialist upon joining a Black Ops 4 game that has already started. Right before any game of Black Ops 4 begins, you are given the chance to choose your Specialist. This is not the case when you join a match that has already begun, however.
When you join a match in Black Ops 4 that has already started, you appear to be assigned a random Specialist, rather than one of your choosing. To make matters worse, we are given the illusion of choice, only to find we’ve been assigned Firebreak instead of Ajax, or any Specialist of your choice. Is there a way to fix the problem?
Can you change class when joining a Black Ops 4 game?
Unfortunately, you simply cannot choose your class when joining a Black Ops 4 game already in motion. You will be assigned a Specialist at random, and you will like it, soldier. To be fair, the issue isn’t the greatest. Once you are in the match, you can enter the pause menu and choose a new Specialist and class. You will then become that Specialist the next time you respawn.
Sadly, we’ll have to wait for Treyarch to fix the problem in a patch. Plenty of fixes big and small have come to Black Ops 4 so far. It’s not so far-fetched that Treyarch will fix the change class when joining a Black Ops 4 game that has already started bug.
Time to cross those fingers, folks.
