EA and Respawn’s brand-new Titanfall battle royale, Apex Legends, is out now on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. But an Apex Legends iPhone seems conscpicuous by its absence. Will we ever see Apex Legends Android release? An Apex Legends Nintendo Switch port also seems to be MIA. Read on to find out if Apex Legends will ever see release on mobile and Nintendo Switch.
Apex Legends iPhone | Is there an Apex Legends mobile port?
As of writing, you can only download and play Apex Legends on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. There is no Apex Legends iPhone or Android port yet. A graphically impressive game, it would seem that there is little chance of a smartphone port for the battle royale. Stranger things have happened, however and the likes of PUBG and Fornite has seen great success on mobile platforms. It would need to be on the receiving end of a serious graphical downgrade, but a port could come to mobile one day.
Fortnite eventually made its way onto mobile and we all know how successful that’s been. We wouldn’t be too surprised to see EA follow Epic Games in that regard.
Is an Apex Legends Nintendo Switch port happening?
Just as with a potential Apex Legends mobile port, a Switch version of the game would need to be scaled down notably in order to run. Due to the success of games such as Fortnite and Warframe, however, EA and Respawn could look to port to the Switch at some point in the future. We wouldn’t be surprised at all if it happened eventually, especially if Apex Legends proves to be a hit.
Lead producer Drew McCoy was asked by Eurogamer if we could see the game ported to iPhone, Android, and Switch. McCoy explained that while Respawn would love to make it happen, there is “nothing [Respawn] can currently talk about.” A Switch and mobile port, therefore, will always remain a possibility unless either EA or Respawn claim otherwise. Cross those fingers if you want to play the game on the go.
