Sekiro Story Trailer

Sekiro story trailer shows us a land overcome by war

Sekiro story trailer has finally been revealed, giving us insight into a terrible that has been torn apart by war. The trailer begins with an establishing shot of a massive battle. Set in the latter years of the Sengoku era, the trailer talks about the constant warfare that was going on in Japan at the time. After a short and intense battle sequence, the scene shifts to the aftermath of the battle. A small child—presumably the main character—is looting the battlefield before he is discovered by a massive man.

The man who finds Sekiro draws his sword and slowly cuts the young child across the face, only to discover that the child didn’t move at all. Rather, the child grabbed the extended blade with his tiny hand and looked up at the man. It was here that the man called him a “wolf” and asked if he would like to be taken care of.

From there, the scene shifts one last time. Sekiro is now an adult, and the elder man says that he had “no idea” what Sekiro would become. Unfortunately, this particular line is very open to interpretation. It could easily be read as a compliment or an insult depending on the surrounding context of the scene, but we don’t get much more than that for the moment. It is here that the Sekiro story trailer comes to an end.

With a little over a month to go before launch, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is certainly shaping up to be an interesting game. It was first revealed at Microsoft’s conference during E3 2018. Since then, we’ve learned a little about the game’s dynamic action, what makes it different from the Dark Souls games, and how it was almost the next game in the Tenchu franchise. You can watch the Sekiro story trailer for yourself below. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice launches on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on March 22, 2019.
