The Division 2 Beta Crash | Beta crashes after playing for a long time fix

The Division 2 private beta is running from now until January 11, so if you’re lucky enough to get into this first taste of Ubisoft’s latest Tom Clancy shooter, you’re probably going to playing it non-stop until Monday. However, for most players that’s not an option, and we’re not talking about having to deal with sleep, food, family, or social activities. Instead, if you play the game for too long you may encounter a The Division 2 beta crash. But what specifically happens if you play The Division 2 beta for too long? Is there a way to fix it? And is Ubisoft aware of the issue so it won’t be in the final game? We’ve got the answers.

What happens if you play The Division 2 beta for a long time?

If you play The Division 2 beta for extended play sessions, such as three hours or more, one of two things can happen: Either the game client will crash outright at some point, or you’ll experience an extreme drop in performance. According to Ubisoft, PC and Xbox players of The Division 2 beta are more likely to receive a crash, and PS4 players will probably get performance issues.

How to fix The Division 2 beta crash

The fix for this extended gameplay session crash is simple, if not necessarily one you might hope for. At certain points, say every two or three hours, you’ll need to log out of the game client and log back in again. As long as you’ve saved your progress you should be able to continue on exactly where you left off, so it isn’t too big of a deal. Fortunately, you’ll be pleased to hear that Ubisoft is aware of this issue and are treating it as a priority fix, which means it shouldn’t appear in the final version of The Division 2. Therefore, when it comes out you’ll be able to play until the early hours of the morning in peace.
